Contact the Desk

There is one editorial mailbox, editor@oyooptionsng.com, and it is for corrections, questions about our pages and nothing else.

The one mailbox

The desk reads editor@oyooptionsng.com. Write to that address for a correction, a question about how a page was checked, or a fact you think we have wrong, and include the page address so we can find it.

We do not promise a response time in hours or days. The desk is small, mail is read in the order it arrives, and a correction that needs a document checked will take longer than a simple note.

What to include with a gold pricing or platform question

Send the exact instrument code and time window first. For any XAU/USD question, state the platform you used (MT4, MT5, cTrader or FxPro Edge), the order ticket number if you have one, and the server time to the minute. Gold moves on 0.01 increments, so a screenshot showing the bid/ask at the moment in question removes guesswork. If the question is about margin, include the lot size and the leverage figure shown on your account; at 1:200 a 0.10-lot position needs about $85.50 margin, and the arithmetic only checks out when we know which cap applied to your account.

Attach your account currency and the funding route you used when the question touches money movement. We need to know whether the deposit came by local NGN bank transfer, Visa or Mastercard debit card, e-payment or crypto, because each route has its own reconciliation trail and its own delay pattern. State the naira amount sent and the USD amount credited if the two differ. Do not send card numbers, full bank account numbers or wallet private keys; the last four digits and the date are enough to locate a transaction.

Describe what you expected and what happened in one or two plain sentences before any attachments. A message that says 'the stop-loss on XAU/USD ticket 12345 triggered at 4268.50 but the chart shows 4270.10 at that second' is answerable; a message that says 'your platform is cheating me' is not. If the issue is a chart display or indicator setting, name the timeframe and the indicator version. If it is an order rejection, copy the exact error text. Precision here decides whether we can reproduce the problem on our side.

Account access, fund recovery and personal advice go to the broker or a licensed adviser

We cannot touch your trading account, reset a password, release a withdrawal, reverse a transfer or recover funds. Those actions sit with the entity that holds your money. The entity serving Nigeria is FxPro Markets Direct Costa Rica Latam SRL, and account and payment requests must go through its own support channel, using the email address registered on the account. Sending us a withdrawal complaint does not start any process at the broker, and it delays the moment you contact the party that can actually act. We will say so plainly rather than hold the message.

Fund recovery after a loss or a disputed transfer is not something we can perform or broker. If you believe a firm has acted improperly, the routes that exist are the broker's formal complaints procedure, your card issuer or bank for a transaction dispute, and the SEC Nigeria register of capital market operators to check who is authorised. We can describe those routes because they are public. We cannot chase a payment, contact a broker on your behalf, or promise that a complaint will succeed. Anyone who offers to recover trading losses for a fee should be treated with suspicion.

Personal trading advice, portfolio allocation and tax positions also go elsewhere. A licensed adviser who knows your full financial position can give the advice we cannot, and the SEC Nigeria register is where you check whether someone is authorised to give it. What we can do is explain how a gold position is margined, what one pip of 0.01 means in money terms, and what the risks of leverage are. That is education, not advice, and the distinction is the reason this page exists in the form it does.

How a correction request is logged, checked and answered

A correction request is logged the day it arrives and checked against the source we used when the page was written. Send the page URL, the exact sentence or figure you believe is wrong, what you believe the correct version is, and a link or document that shows it. We do not require you to be right, only to be specific. If the claim concerns a number we published, quote the number as it appears. If it concerns a regulatory statement, point to the register entry or the licence page rather than a forum post.

We verify before we edit. That means opening the primary source, not a secondary summary, and checking whether the original figure was correct at the time of publication and has since changed or was wrong from the start. Where the fact is one we are permitted to state, such as the instrument specification for XAU/USD or the margin arithmetic at a stated leverage, the check is quick. Where the fact depends on a broker's current schedule, we confirm what we can and describe the rest as dependent rather than assert a number we cannot support.

You get a reply either way. If the correction is upheld, we tell you what changed and when the page was updated. If it is not upheld, we explain what the source says and why the published version stands, and we keep the exchange on file. We do not remove a correct statement because it is unwelcome, and we do not add a claim we cannot source because a reader asserts it. A correction that improves accuracy is the most useful message this page receives, and it is treated as such.

What makes a message answerable in one exchange

A useful message names the page, the instrument and the exact point of confusion in the first two lines. For gold questions that means writing XAU/USD rather than 'gold', giving the lot size (remembering 1 standard lot is 100 oz) and stating the leverage shown on your account if margin is involved. For a page correction it means quoting the sentence. For a platform question it means naming MT4, MT5, cTrader or FxPro Edge and the order ticket. A message that does all four can usually be answered without a round trip.

Include the context that changes the answer. Your account currency matters because a margin figure quoted in USD has to be converted to naira at the rate your bank or card applied, and that rate is not ours to set. The funding route matters because local NGN bank transfers, Visa or Mastercard debit cards, e-payments and crypto each leave a different trail. The time of day matters because gold trades across sessions and a spread or quote at 08:00 Lagos time is not the same as one at 21:00.

Leave out what cannot help: passwords, one-time codes, full card numbers, screenshots of your entire account dashboard, and long accounts of how the market has treated you. Those either create a security problem or bury the detail we need. One clear paragraph plus one screenshot of the relevant screen beats ten paragraphs of background. If you are unsure whether a detail matters, include it in a single line at the end rather than at the top, so the specific question stays visible.

No guest posts and no paid placement

We do not accept guest posts, sponsored reviews or paid placement at any price. Every page on this site is written by the desk, and there is no route to buy a mention, a rating or a link.

If you are a broker or an agency offering payment for coverage, the answer is no, and it will stay no. The only commercial relationship on this site is the affiliate link disclosed on the page where it appears.

What we will and will not help with

We will explain how a mechanic works, point you to the broker document that covers it, and correct our own pages. We will not help with account problems, we cannot intervene in a dispute with a broker, and we do not do fund recovery of any kind.

We also do not give personal advice. We do not know your finances, your risk tolerance or your goals, and anyone who offers to tell you what to trade by email is selling something. For a regulated view, speak to a licensed adviser.

How long a reply takes and what changes the timing

Expect a first reply within two to three business days for most messages, counted from the next working day in Lagos. Messages that arrive on Saturday or Sunday, or during a Nigerian public holiday, start the clock on the next business day. A question that needs us to check a published figure against its source can take longer, and we will tell you when we expect to close it rather than leave you guessing. We do not promise same-day answers, and we do not use an automated first response to simulate one.

Timing depends on whether your message is complete and whether it concerns a live market event. A gold question sent during a fast move, when XAU/USD is gapping around a reference level such as 4275.0, may take an extra day because the answer needs the exact timestamp and platform state, not a general explanation. A correction request with a source attached is usually faster to assess than an open-ended query. If you send a follow-up while the first message is open, it joins the same thread and does not reset the queue position.

We answer in the order messages arrive, with the exception of corrections to published facts, which are pulled forward as described below. Volume matters: a week with many correction requests will slow ordinary replies. If your matter is time-sensitive because a position is open, say so in the subject line and include the ticket number; we will still not give trading advice, but we can prioritise a factual platform question. We will always tell you if we cannot answer within the window rather than let the thread go silent.

Questions we answer and questions that need a licensed adviser

We answer factual and educational questions about gold trading mechanics, platform navigation, order types, margin arithmetic and how our published material is sourced. If you ask how a 0.10-lot XAU/USD position is margined at a given leverage, or why one pip on gold is 0.01 and what that means in naira at the prevailing rate, that is squarely ours. We can also explain what a document says and where a stated figure came from. We cannot tell you whether to buy or sell gold, where to place your stop, or how much of your ₦ savings to allocate.

Personal trading advice is outside what we can give, and that is a deliberate limit rather than a courtesy. We do not know your income, your debts, your dependants or your tolerance for losing the entire margin on a position, so any instruction to enter or exit would be reckless. Questions framed as 'should I hold XAU/USD over the weekend' or 'is 4275.0 a good entry' will receive an explanation of the mechanics and the risks, not a direction. If you need advice tailored to your circumstances, speak to a person authorised to give it.

We also cannot confirm whether a specific broker is safe for you or predict what a regulator will do next. On the regulatory question we point you to the primary record: FxPro is licensed by the FCA (UK), CySEC and FSCA; confirm any broker on the SEC Nigeria register of capital market operators. That is the check we can describe. We will not rank brokers, compare their costs as though the numbers were ours, or vouch for an entity's conduct. Those judgments depend on facts we do not hold and on your own risk assessment.

FAQ

Common questions

How do I reach the Oyo Options desk?

Use the contact form or the email address listed on the contact page. Include the page URL and the exact sentence you are asking about, so the desk can find it quickly. We aim to reply to editorial questions, but we do not run a live chat and we do not answer urgent trading or account questions.

Can the desk help me recover money from a broker?

No. Oyo Options is not a broker, adviser or dispute service, and it cannot recover funds, freeze an account or intervene in a withdrawal. If you have a problem with a firm, contact the firm in writing and raise it with the relevant regulator, including the SEC Nigeria if the firm holds itself out as a capital market operator.

Will you tell me whether to buy or sell gold today?

No. The desk explains how gold contracts, margin and pip value work, and points you to calculators such as position size and pip value. It does not issue signals, price targets or personal recommendations. Anyone who guarantees a gold trade outcome is not giving you analysis, and you should treat that as a warning sign.

Can I ask you to check whether a broker is safe?

You can ask, but the desk will not certify a broker as safe. What we can do is repeat the check you should run yourself: confirm the firm on the SEC Nigeria register of capital market operators, and note that FxPro is licensed by the FCA (UK), CySEC and FSCA. Licensing reduces some risks but does not remove trading risk.

Do you accept guest posts or paid reviews?

The desk does not publish paid reviews or guest articles that promote a broker. Commercial arrangements, where they exist, are disclosed on the about page and never buy a favourable sentence. If you have a factual correction or a document we should read, send it through the contact page and it will be reviewed on its merits.
